Brent C. Hause is a Principal, Portfolio Manager, and Financial Advisor at Fortuna Investors.
After beginning his career at Deloitte Consulting following the Great Financial Crisis, Brent discovered his passion for financial markets during the "Arab Spring" while trading the volatile swings of the energy markets caused by global unrest. Realizing that management consulting was not his path, he refocused his career on financial markets.
Between 2012-2017, Brent worked as an institutional trader, starting with a small/mid-cap equity research firm where his clients included mutual funds, hedge funds, and some of the largest pension funds in the country. Later, he served as the Director of Asia Trading for Access Securities, an outsourced trading desk catering to small and mid-sized hedge funds. During this period, Brent developed his skills in the realm of quantitative investment management and met his future business partner, Michael Ritger. Michael and Brent became fast friends as they shared the research they had done independently on portfolio management.
In 2017, Brent left institutional trading to broaden his knowledge in alternative investments, wealth and asset management, and the financial advisory business in general. He joined Griffin Capital Securities (GCS) and later Apollo Global Management in 2022. At GCS/Apollo, Brent served as a Regional Director covering NJ, PA, & NY, tasked with raising capital for alternative investment vehicles spanning private real estate, private credit, and private equity. During his time at GCS/Apollo, Brent consulted with financial advisors across channels, including wirehouse advisors, independent broker-dealers, and Registered Investment Advisors.
Despite achieving success in his career, Brent felt a strong desire to actualize his vision for how a financial advisor could best serve and add value for clients. Brent left the corporate world in 2023 to make that vision a reality. He joined Fortuna as a Partner and is now focused on serving clients as a Portfolio Manager and Financial Advisor.
Brent grew up in New Hampshire and attended the University of Colorado, where he earned his BA in Economics and French in 2010. He is an Investment Advisor Representative and has passed his Series 3, 7, 24, 27, 55, 63, and 65 license exams.
Brent currently lives in South Lake Tahoe, CA, with his wife Jen. In his spare time, he enjoys fly fishing, rock climbing, and backcountry snowboarding.
